|
Course material will draw from Jewish Holidays, Bible Stories, Rabbinic Texts, the American Jewish Experience, Jews around the World, History of Jews in the Diaspora, Jewish Contributions to Science, the Law, Social Movements, Literature, the Arts, Israel both Ancient and Modern, and Introductions to Hebrew and Yiddish. More advanced Language study will be offered in the higher grades. Music, literature, art film, dance, writing, and discussion are used to engage the students in meaningful activities. The Children are exposed to a wide range of Jewish traditions but the emphasis is on our own non-theistic liturgy and rational, scientific interpretations of the world, how it is, and how it came to be. |
