Shabbat Service with Rabbi Gabriel
Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
We are getting together Saturday Jan 24, at our home,
for a Shabbat service with a very special Rabbi. There
will be wonderful music, good discussion and a potluck
brunch. We are privileged to have Rabbi Jack Gabriel
as our guest.
Please let me know if you will be attending and what
food you would like to contribute to the potluck.

I asked the Rabbi to tell us a little bit about what
he does; here is his response:
Well, let's see....I am the Rabbi of Kol HaLev, an
organization that seeks to serve all kinds of Jews
and friends of Jews, especially if they feel ignored
by or disconnected from the mainstream; I was the
spiritual leader of Har Shalom in Fort Collins for ten
years, which was an independent shul serving all
kinds of people, from traditional to inter-marrieds; I
have done nine recordings of original music, in the
U.S. and Canada; I am a student of Rabbi Zalman
Schachter-Shalomi, the originator and grandfather of
the Jewish Renewal Movement; I am also a student of
Jewish Mysticism and a believer in the mysteries and
paradoxes of life and so I feel honored and privileged
to lead a service and share some Torah with Denver's
Humanistic Judaism Community. We have more things in
common, I think, than differences, so let's celebrate
and have a good time together!
