March 18, 2005 Shabbat with Ellen Rosenthal

Beth Ami-Colorado Congregation for Humanistic Judaism will welcome Ellen Rosenthal as the guest speaker at its March 18, 2005, Shabbat service, to be held at 7:00p at the Aspen Village, 150 Quebec St., in Denver.  The service is open to the public.  Her topic will be Jewish Ethics. 

Ms. Rosenthal is the former Director of Education at the Mizel Museum of Judaica where she developed educational program for a wide range of audiences on topics of Jewish history, culture and Judaism within a multicultural context. She is currently completing her MA in Religion and Social Change at Iliff School of Theology.  

She has also worked for several years with the Denver-based peace program Seeking Common Ground (SCG). In the context of SCG Ellen has facilitated conflict transformation and bridge building programs with Israeli and Palestinian youth as well as groups from Northern Ireland, South African and across the United States. Currently Ellen is teaching a course in Jewish Ethics through the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School of Jewish education.  She has taught children, adolescents and adults through numerous local organizations and communities, including Congregations Beth Evergreen and Rodef Shalom, the Interfaith Community, and various churches and women's groups.

Ellen has lived in Jerusalem for a year while studying at Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and travelled extensively throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and parts of Africa and South America.
